Serena Cardillo, MD

Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine

Dr. Cardillo joined the faculty in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2006. She completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University where she received a B.A. in Behavioral Biology. She received her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and completed both a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical interests include diabetes management, transplant associated diabetes, pre-diabetes and metabolic syndrome and diabetes in bariatric surgery patients. Her clinical practice is based at the Penn Rodebaugh Diabetes Center.

Dr. Cardillo is also actively involved in medical education at the residency and fellowship levels. She is currently the Director of Ambulatory Training for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and the Director of Graduate Diabetes Education.
