Robin trained in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in the Urban Health Primary Care Med-Peds Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She earned her B.S. in behavioral neuroscience at Northeastern University and graduated from Loyola University Chicago with her M.D., completing both programs with honors. During training she completed the Medical Research Scholars Program at the National Institutes of Health. Through her research she aims to understand the biopsychosocial and epigenetic underpinnings between adversity and chronic disease, prevent and reverse the negative sequelae of adversity throughout the lifespan, and implement interventions that foster healthy early life family environments and skills that build resilience. She works clinically with children and adults in the context of families. She pursues interests in population health and policy that impacts child, family, and adult preventive health and emotional wellbeing. To that end, she has additional training in mindfulness and plant-based nutrition. In all her work, she incorporates her passion to improve the health of Latino communities. Some of her recognitions include being named a New Century Scholar by the Academic Pediatric Association, and the 2017-18 National Med-Peds Residents’ Association research awardee, as well as an awardee from organizations such as the National Science Foundation, the Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society, the Johns Hopkins Primary Care Consortium, and the Johns Hopkins Physician Scientist Training Program.
