Katherine (Katie) Pumphrey, MD

MSHP Student

Dr. Katherine (Katie) Pumphrey is a Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) with a focus in quality improvement, patient safety, and medical operations.

Dr. Pumphrey graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Biology and BA in Women’s Studies. At Maryland, she was a member of the varsity women’s lacrosse team (Go Terps!). She completed her medical education at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where she also received her Master of Health Administration degree. Dr. Pumphrey completed her residency training at Weill Cornell Medical Center where she served as the Chair of the Weill Cornell Housestaff Quality Council. She also participated in quality improvement work regarding asthma, analgosedation, and communication. Dr. Pumphrey continues to have interests in quality improvement, health economics, operations, and the patient/provider experience.
