Jesse Passman, MD

MSHP Student

Jesse Passman is a PGY-4 resident in General Surgery at Penn. He graduated from Rice University with a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He subsequently received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society.  During medical school, he also took a year out to obtain a Master in Public Health at Penn, focusing his studies on access to surgical care in Ghana and Madagascar.

Dr. Passman intends to specialize in surgical oncology after general surgery residency. Through the MSHP, he intends to focus on health-system level interventions to improve equity in cancer screening rates and referrals to definitive treatment with an emphasis on endocrine diseases such as primary aldosteronism. He also has interest in improving utilization of palliative care services for surgical patients.
